Betty's been stamping around!

One of the things I want to do in 2016 is to try new things, so I started by doing a bit of metal stamping. The ladies at Bunyip in Exeter were great at getting me started. These are my first efforts on aluminium discs with black ribbons - 'let your spirit sing', 'let time stand still', 'I will always love you' and 'tell me a story'. It's taken lots of trial and error with the stamping as well as working out what was best to use to get the black colour into the indentations (lots of people seem to use a sharpie or acrylic paint but in the end for me, it was a Stabilo OH permanent pen for smooth surfaces). I've also found that they're tricky to photograph as the slight indentations, reflections and shadows in the metal end up looking like extra marks! I'm going to keep stamping ready for the Vintage and Textile Fair in Tavistock on 13th February. Betty x
